They are not infallible.
With what I have learned since then its just as easy ( no charge ) to go and check yourself .
The department you need to check for any debt registered on your property is the Emlak Vergisi. You will need the registration number used when paying your council tax.

As I said I did this .but the stupid lawyer had only asked them to check the office computer records .They have a main book that is supposed to be updated to the Tapu office PC. It had not been updated so the computer said clear ,but the office records main book said no .Its called Tapu records Master book.

Re: Process for selling property in Turkey

You could have 10 people on this forum who have bought/sold in different ways, why? Well theres several different ways to buy or sell AND can involve three different commonly used currencies in Turkey, Lira, Euro, Stirling.

My only suggestion to buyers & sellers is this. When you have the particular "system/plan" your going to use, STICK TO IT. Mix & match at your own peril.

Re: Process for selling property in Turkey

By the way.

Don't think for one minute that a Notarised contract/document covers you in Turkey because it doesn't. What it does do is make the contract/document legally presentable in a court of law, what it doesn't do is necessarily get you your money or property back.

Again, I'm sure on this forum people know what I am talking about, paid to have something Notarised only to find out its waste paper.

A comparison in the UK would be:
Accepting a cheque only to have it bounce because the account is empty.
