After Turkey - Where would you move to?

Taking into account all that is happening Turkey with the RP process and health insurance where would you consider moving to?

Re: Where would you move to?

We are selling up after being in Turkey for eight years. We still love the country and people but need to be closer to our families and friends. So we have decided to move to Southern Spain in the Murcia region.

Wherever the grass is greener. Once you have done one big move, the worlds your oyster.

Re: Where would you move to?

Sadly the greener grass does not always stay green once people have moved on - whether it be to Turkey, from Turkey, Bulgaria, Northern Cyprus or any country in the world - as many tales have been told on here!

Many people find it hard to be content in their own mind and sadly often take their troubles with them wherever they go.
Not surprisingly there is no perfect place anywhere in the world. You make a decision and live with it until you personally decide you need to move on.
Personally we still love living here nine years since we arrived and wouldnt move anywhere but that doesnt mean its right for everyone else.
Contentment is priceless wherever you are in the world but sadly many people dont find it because they think they need more than they have because they confuse their "wants" with "needs."

Re: Where would you move to?

We've lived in beautiful Fethiye for 7 years and on the whole have enjoyed our lives here. The downside of living in Turkey is the constantly changing rules for expats. The latest move - needing health insurance to get an RP, and the new (1 year at a time) rules have made us decide it's time to leave.

We will be moving to Northern Cyprus later this year. Apparently they are quite happy to let us golden oldies come and go or even stay long term with little or no formality. Looking forward to (hopefully) a hassle free life there.

Re: Where would you move to?

We moved to TRNC last week and we love the place. The house martins helped us and continue doing so.

Our experience of Turkey is something we hope to forget.
