New traffic laws in Turkey,

All you hot-shot drivers here in Turkey have one more rule to deal with.

As of this morning the driving laws have been ammended, if you are caught driving in a dangerous manner or exceed the speed limit you could now face a fine of up to 2750TL and a 3 mounth ban.

Stay safe, drive carefully.

Re: New traffic laws in Turkey,

Any clarification on what constitutes dangerous driving, or what % over the limit brings onboard the large fine?. This is more than double the minimum wage

Re: New traffic laws in Turkey,

I hope it's going to include riding scooters/ mopeds on footpaths, driving the wrong way on a one street, because it's quicker than going the correct way.

The drivers here in Bodrun whether they are locals or out-of-towners can show you what dangerous driving looks like. As for speeding, 1Km/h over the stated speed limit for any particular road is speeding. I know I've been done many a time for just that.

It'll be implemented the same way as riding a motorcycle without an helmet is.

Plus....there's not going to be any room in the courts schedule for a while

Re: New traffic laws in Turkey,

Got to be honest ,and say after driving here for 11 years I think it's safer than UK. Because I am on guard ALL the time for the unexpected.
