Xmas Turkey Anyone?

Few years back in the glory days of all year flights-partly thanks to the wacky folk at Goldtrail and Onurair -many of us enjoyed a Xmas/New Year in Turkey.

Between company closures and flight cutbacks it's virtually impossible getting there direct from U.K./Ireland over Xmas ( Belfast/Dalaman has actually cut back to not commencing until May).

Do members bite the bullet and go through Istanbul for an Xmas break or give it a miss these days?

Goldtrail and Holidays4U certainly brings back memories of Turkish travel.

Re: Xmas Turkey Anyone?

Yes there used to be all year round flights out of Manchester to Dalaman which we used many a winter

Sadly the flights were often only half full so the inevitable came to pass

Re: Xmas Turkey Anyone?

We have gone to Turkey for the last 10 years. Yes it was great when we could go direct, now via Istanbul. This year we go from Manchester, to Amsterdam then Istanbul and finally Bodrum, but could not give up going. We are there for a month so not to bad

Re: Xmas Turkey Anyone?

It's that sort of trek that would put me off-certainly if it was for only the Xmas /New Year week, but of course each to their own

Enjoy your time and Hapoy Xmas
