Residence permit

I may be being a bit thick so please correct me if I am wrong. If I want to live in Turkey permanently do I get my 90 day evisa first then apply for residents permit once I arrive in Turkey? I presume you have to apply from inside the country?

Re: Residence permit

So here is my concern - what if I sell up in UK then have residency refused as I'm sure it can happen.I will have enough to live on have never overstayed my tourist visa and don't have a criminal record but could it still happen?

My concern would be with you burning all your bridges too soon, I would suggest you start with a 'Short Term Residents Permit' (aka STRP) 2 year permit which would then also give you the time and freedom to move around and try somewhere for a time before making a final decision. You can start the application on your next visit and shouldn't be too long to get the result depending on which area you are applying from.
DOCUMENTS TO BE REQUIRED IN FIRST AND TRANSFER APPOINTMENTS

Re: Residence permit

When you meet some of the ex-pats here you will wonder how they ever received a resident permit. I am not aware of anyone being refused for short term; for long term a criminal report is needed.

Re: Residence permit

Does anyone know 'on average' how long it's taking for a STRP to come through in Didim.
