Alternative to owing in Turkey. Marigold Hotel

Last weekend I was shown around a new building about 60km from from where I live. It is being built by a reputable local company (They built our villa 15 years ago, and have gone from strength to strength).
The builders are undecided about exactly how to use it and are considering opening to to retired foreigners in Turkish 'Best Exotic Marigold Hotel' manner.
I do not have all the details, many of them are still not decided.

I am posting this to get the views of other TLF members. I have no financial interest whatsoever.

It seems to me that it is an alternative to owning and a possible step after selling before returning to the UK.

I would love to hear other people's ideas.

It is in a place called Uluborlu in Isparta province. As it is 1000m high the summers are milder. The town is famous for exporting cherries and has a cherry festival each year.

Re: Alternative to owing in Turkey. Marigold Hotel

These types of retirement hotels do well in Malta but unfortunately otel kadife çiçeği (?) doesn’t have the same ring to it. Nevertheless now might be a good time to acquire a financial interest!

No such thing here. Initially we were looking at building a small hotel in Crimea (no longer a good idea ) And we’ve considered taking over a failing hotel here and converting it but with my Russian it would just get too complicated.
