Re-entry stamp

So I've been in Turkey for over 6 months now, haven't driven, but we're getting a car in the next week or so. I've applied to have my UK license changed over to a Turkish one, but have to wait until that's done. In the meantime, I've learned that I can leave the country, get a passport stamp on the way back, and that will allow me to use my UK license in Turkey for the next 6 months.

I'm based in Antalya near Konyaalti, just wondering if anyone has any ideas on the most painless way to get a re-entry stamp? I'm thinking bus to Kas, stay in Kas for a couple of nights, and ferry to Meis for a day trip, but wondering if there are any alternatives that I'd not considered.

Re: Re-entry stamp

I assume you have a RP as you can only be in Turkey 90 days in previous 180 days regardless of how many stamps you have

We were told that your UK Driving License is sent back to the UK when you apply for a Turkish License.....which means you spend time with no license until the Turkish one is issued.

Or has that changed?

Re: Re-entry stamp

That is still the same but to get a Turkish licence you'll need your ORIGINAL school leaving certificate

Re: Re-entry stamp

I would fly to TRNC from Antalya, stock up on UK-type shopping and fly back later in the day. they have some good indian restaurants if you stay the night. Several people on here can advise on TRNC. Alcohol is much cheaper there, but the customs in Antalya WILL put all luggage from TRNC through an X Ray machine so do not cheat.

Re: Re-entry stamp

They did at our school but I never got one
We were the first year to try out a new exam the Central school's certificate
We were told if we went back into school 6 weeks after the summer break, we could pick our certificates up , hardly anybody did (I mean who knew 56 years ago we would need one for a Turkish driving licence )

BTW you won't get a licence without one
