Global tourism giants will convene in southern city of Antalya at the first ''Europe-Turkey Tourism Summit'' on September 24th-25th.

Europe-Turkey Tourism Business Council Chairman Huseyin Baraner has indicated today that Antalya plans to host 10 million tourists and earn 10 billion USD annually in the near future.

''Over 130 tourism entrepreneurs, executives, directors and journalists will come to Antalya on September 24th. Antalya is already one of the five top tourism destinations in the world based on the number of tourists visiting and profits. Antalya must open its tourism offices across Europe to promote tourism,'' noted Baraner.

Meanwhile, Chairman of Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry Kemal Ozgen has noted that, in the past two years, Antalya broke world records in tourism. ''In 2005, global tourism sector grew by eight percent. In the same period, European tourism sector grew by five percent. Turkish tourism reached record numbers and by the end of the year would have reached a growth rate of 25 percent,'' told Ozgen.
