I hope she's found not guilty.

Re: Isparta Womens' Issues.

actually this is old news
Nevin gave birth to this baby in November and could not look at it...

they took a dna sample from the baby to make sure the father was the man she killed and it was.

her case is bringing up a lot of discussion about women's rights especially since the usual suspect aka RTE stuck his nose into abortion and caesarian laws

Do you have 'Guilty' with diminished responsibility like temporary insanity?

Re: Isparta Womens' Issues.

Her lawyer will argue self defence.
This happened in a village near İsparta not far away from the tourist areas of Antalya.....but its another world for women in rural areas

Nevin claimed she had cleansed her honour......and you have to look at this in terms of the culture...as the concept of honour in Middle east and Asian countries is deeply rooted in the culture and the word 'honour' has different connotations to the way its thought of in say the Uk.

Many people will quote the fact that Turkey has had a female PM and that women had the vote before we did..but these things mean nothing when we see the situation on the ground. Although women in Turkey are legally better off than their sisters in other patriarchal societies culturally things haven't changed much.

this woman showed the same mentality that men show towards women they feel have besmirched their 'honour'
i wonder what her sentence will be.

in today's paper there was a report of a man who had turned himself into the police after he killed his exwife ...he stabbed her multiple times because she refused to be reconciled with him.....The fact that after the killing he went straight to the police is an indication of how this crime is viewed in many parts of Turkey.

İnstead of this government building multiple grand shopping malls all over the place..in areas where many cant afford the goods on sale...they need to get their act together and improve educational standards across the country
