Forum members might want to check this site after Tuesday 21st March as the rules may not apply to guests staying with the Tapu owner resident and staying less than 30 nights

I dont believe that it is and applies to all. You may be confused because of the heading and the opening article which is a timely reminder about Foreigners paying tax on income , not just from rentals, and for which there are special provisions. In typical TLF it then got hijacked.

Ergh excuse me that's not why I asked, perhaps you shouldn't assume and start calling peoples thoughts silly, without even knowing what those thoughts might be.
I was actually thinking that perhaps the Muhtar was keeping an eye on things BECAUSE of burglaries in the area.
In our town the police will come around in the evenings for patrols if there have been a spate of burglaries.
As I said, I've never had to inform anyone because of a potential earthquake evacuation situationthat my house was unoccupied.

Perhaps a little more thought and what you have now said would have avoided my misinterpretation - lets move on

It never was including guests staying in a property when the owner is in residence, only in the Absence of the owner.
It still isn't yet 100% clear if the registration to the online system will be required or just a record of who stays & when...All should become clearer later this next week.
