Generally you can say anything about where you are staying. Some people do not book in advance.

Re: Foreign landlords, tax obligations.

I was annoyed that when I was at a shopping mall there, they wouldn't sell me a sim card unless I show them my passport. I can see why they would have such rules in place.

Re: Foreign landlords, tax obligations.

You can't take a phone contract in Turkey, neither can you use a Turkisk SIM card in a UK phone!
Sorry just realised way off post but it was a reply to the previous comment re SIM card in the US A.

In answer to an earlier question, rentals could have been profitable if managed properly and they also produced renters who were inclined to put money into the local economy with their purchase of goods, use of bars, restaurants etc.
The only ones who are having any success this year are going to be the large All Inclusive Russian preferred hotels and the rest will struggle big-time.
We sold up late last year and although I miss the place and will be returning shortly for a visit, I have only ever heard people tell me that we did right to get out when we did. That does not bode well and I take no satisfaction in that comment, but I must admit I feel the same way.
excuse my ignorance. How is blocking booking.com pushing out the private home rentals? I thought you can find rental villas on booking.com
I see villas advertised on there as well.
I'm curious to purchase a family home/rental property soon.
Thanks
