Re: Turkey stages military operation on YPG in Syria's Afrin

No not all Kurds agree with Turkey's actions in Syria. However, Erdogan has warned them in no uncertain terms they will be arrested if they protest. There are a lot of clashes at the moment between protesting Kurds and Turks in a number of European countries.

11 members of Turkish Medical Association’s central council detained over Afrin operation remarks

Eleven members of the Turkish Medical Association’s (TTB) central council were detained on Jan. 30 for their statement criticizing the military’s “Operation Olive Branch” in Syria, triggering a reaction from the main opposition party.

The TTB had issued a declaration stating that “War is a Matter of Public Health” upon the start of the cross-border operation into Afrin last week, saying “No to war, peace immediately.”

Re: Turkey stages military operation on YPG in Syria's Afrin

Russia tells Turkey to hand Afrin over to Syrian regime.

Moscow would want to see Turkey return the region of Afrin in Syrian Kurdistan (Rojava) to the government of Syria, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Monday.

“We always proceed from the fact that the easiest way to normalize the situation in Afrin, now that Turkish representatives say that the main goals they set there have been achieved, would be to return the territory under the control of the Syrian government,” Lavrov said.
