Getting Tax Number
OK, so this has probably been covered before, but as you all know, I can't see beyond my nose, even though I have looked, honest!!
We have two friends coming over on Monday and we will have to take them to the tax office to get their tax numbers - what documents will they have to take with them, please? It was so long ago when we did ours that we can't remember (anyway, somebody else did it for us).
Many thanks everybody, both for your help and your patience!!

Re: Getting Tax Number
Hi Harem.
This is totally off topic but I find you a quite delightful member of this forum and you are always nice to others.
I have read a lot of your posts and you always very modest and have a tendency to be very self depracating.
Can I just say that your input to this forum is as welcome and good as anybodys so you dont need to be so self critical.

Re: Getting Tax Number
Well, thank you Terry. You've made me blush. Good job nobody can see it!! I find it doesn't cost anything at all to be polite, friendly, give a smile, etc., but, as you say, and as others have told me, I put myself down unnecessarily. It's just the way I am and I don't think I will ever change. (Probably the result of having two husbands - not at the same time, I might add - who always thought/think they were/are right and I'm always wrong and don't know anything!!!) Well, what do I know, anyway, I'm just a mere woman!!

Re: Getting Tax Number
Hi Harem
We got our Tax Number when we opened our bank accounts don't know if the system has changed in the last 18 months. but I should try the bank first as I think they have to issue everbody who opens up an account with a tax number by Turkish Law.

Re: Getting Tax Number
You need a tax number now before you can open an account.

You are definitely NOT a "mere" woman, just a very nice one!
Back to topic sorry
Yes we went to the tax office to get our numbers as they were needed at the bank before an account could be opened.

Re: Getting Tax Number
Hi Buster, I think you have to go to the Tax office to get the number and then go to the bank - down here, anyway!! When we first came here we were able to open an account without a tax number, but when my friends were over last we were told that the system has now changed and they have to have a tax number and the bank wouldn't (couldn't) do it. No problem, anyway, it's a simple enough exercise.

Re: Getting Tax Number
And one of the very few things that are free!! And you dont have to take 8 passport photos.......! Apart from that Terry is right - I was just thinking that as we're both in/near Fethiye we should meet up sometime for a bit of "mere womans" gossip!!
