Not on his actual kimlik but they are on his nufus card which you need to apply for official papers etc...

That must be the "Nufus Örnek" document. It lists everyone in your immediate family, along with their parents' names.
Thats the only thing I can think of, other than my own kimlik, that shows my mum and dad's names.

Re: Citizenship in Turkey
Quick update on the citizenship stuff.... not much but the Police called me on my mobile this week and told me I had to take them photocopies of my passport, marriage cert and husbands nufus card in person. Immediately! So I left work and rushed there - they just took them and said thanks.... Typical

Re: Citizenship in Turkey
Hi Kate
I had the same thing when i was waiting on my citizenship....they demanded i go off to the Jandarme to fill in forms with details they already had - on Christmas day last year. Anyway you should be ok as regards your residency running out. I applied on roughly the same time scales as you and i got a call at the beginning of may to say that my citizenship had been granted and the nufus office in Fethiye would contact me to say when i could pick up my kimlik - that didn't happen til august but i was officially a citizen from may.

Re: Citizenship in Turkey
I hadn't heard anything for nearly 3 months about my citizenship so I called the office in Muğla on Friday and they said they'd look into it....... My husband got a call first thing this morning telling us to go for the interview this Wednesday! Wish me luck!

Yes a big good luck..I have had citizenship since Nov 2004....however I waited after applying for more than 3.5 years..I have been told from other friends that the processing system is a bit quicker however these days....and you should get some type of answer within 1 year from application..My Swedish friend got her's in 6 months...

Re: Citizenship in Turkey
I had my interview on Wednesday and except for the waiting around it was fine! There were 6 men in the room and I went in on my own at first and they just asked me about myself, where I'm from, what I do etc etc then called my husband in and basically asked him the same stuff. They were really nice to us which I wasn't expecting and told my husband he was a lucky man! Before we left they told us congratulations so I suppose I've got it. My file is being sent to Ankara and I should have my citizenship in the next 3 -12 months!
The whole process was so much easier than anything else I've done in Turkey!
