Re: Tourist visa update
When I arrived in Bodrum on 6th October, I was given a 30 day visa that had the '90 day' stamp over the top. It is legible, although it takes quite a lot of reading. I'm returning to Turkey in December, but entering the country at Istanbul - I'm undecided whether to just buy a new visa, or see if the immigration complain.

Re: Tourist visa update
We have just returned from holiday in Altinkum and we got a US Dollar stamp put in our passport which was valid for 30 days even though we paid £10. When we went to Bodrum airport yesterday to return to UK I queried this and he pointed out that there is a stamp over it saying valid for 90 days.

Re: Tourist visa update
I am finally retiring in May tthis year. We have a house in Belek where we hope to spend many months. As we have grandchildren we hope to come home a few times a year although we are not certain how often as they will also visit us. Which would be the most cost effective - pay for flights around 4 times a year buying 90 visa's or residency and what are any other implications. I have read other messages but just end up even more confused - sorry to sound so stupid - I will be grateful for any advice

Re: Tourist visa update
If you intend going back to the UK more than once in a year, then it's more cost effective to just use a Tourist Visa.
Take to price of a Residence Permit as roughly 600 YTL / £265 pa and then divide by the number of days that you intend to be in Turkey for.
Then do the same calculation against a Tourist Visa at 90 YTL / £40. ( 4 X 3 month visas )
Since the change in rules regarding vehicle purchase, there's no great advantage in having a Residence Permit at the moment, unless you want to become a citizen after 5 years.

Re: Tourist visa update
..."The rumour of a one month tıurist visa has travelled around Antalya for the last six months.Interestingly North Cyprus which automatically issued three months now issues one month. However if you ask for three months and explain the reason ( Holiday Home etc. ) you will get one. No longer issued automatically as previously. My own opinion is that this will happen in Turkey in the not to distant future..."
Just curious, why would Turkey want to change the visa from a three month one to a one month?
