Illegal Immigrants

I know 4 or possibly 5 illegal immigrants living around here [Fethiye].All entered the country on tourist visas and some have been here for many years.
Does anyone know how they can legitimize themselves? Either legally or [whisper] otherwise. What are the fines if following the legal way?

Re: Illegal Immigrants

Are they british Gully? I think after this amount of time they'd be handed a very hefty fine if not prison sentence.

Might be worth talking to the British Embassy, they might be able to help negotiate a deal with the authorities?

Re: Illegal Immigrants

There is an official 'fine' list at the old bill shop for those applying for residency. Sometime ago I saw someone had posted it on the internet. Just speaking from experience. Our first fine for a 2 month overstay was 255ytl. however if you are talking years, aint gonna be cheap. Also they are knackered for leaving the country to anywhere surely till they have gone down this very expensive route. (maybe they should form an escape committee). I will supply them with a rowing boat for 20,000ytl and that will still be a saving for em.

Maybe they are the same people who (ignorantly in my opinion) complain about the 'bloody immigrants' in England?
