i checked with the turkish embassy in london and there is no need to have a minimum of 6 months on the pasport to travel, i suspect this is another clause invented by the travel companies to protect their bookings.

so in other words trevan they make us all panic for nothing ?? i am constantly checking mine ( have the retention of a smartie) to see when i have to renew it ,just in case i need to jet off somewhere and i have less than 6 months left !

The actual wording of the passport validity issue (from Ministry of Foreign Affairs) is that you must have:
Valid travel document (passport) (It should be valid at least three months longer than the expiry date of the requested visa)
A kick on the arse off six months by my maths if you're using a ninety day Tourist Visa; and what have the travel companies got to do with it?
