90 day visa
when you pay £10 at the airport on the way into turkey for the 90 day visa , if you stay for 14 days then go back to the uk, if you return to turkey within the 90 days after you first entered , do you have to pay another £10 or can you walk straight upto passport control . thanks

You just go straight to the passport control.

I think you need this when travelling to most countries. It has always irritated me that effectively you lose six months off your passport because the need to have at least six months remaining is lurking in the small print of the booking form.

That's good. I'll look out for that when I next have to renew!

Even more important since the 15th February 2008.
The rules have changed and you will now no longer be allowed to exit the country using an expired Tourist Visa simply by paying the "overstay" fine. You will now be barred from re-entering Turkey for the same number of days that you overstayed. This applies to all EU & OECD countries.
Simplest option (if your visa has expired) is to obtain a Residency Permit which will be recognised as valid to exit the country without penalty.
This *is* Turkey, so I'm sure there will be other ways round it and and the wording of the new regulations open to local interpretation.

Re: 90 day visa
Hi Guys
When renewing your UK passport, you get any unused portion/time from your old passport added to your new one!
Therefore, if your passport is due to expire in August 2008, and you renew in March 2008, your new (10 year) passport will still have an expiry date of August 2018.
Hope that this helps.
