After all the rumours about the 90 day visa being reduced to 30 days and no more back to back visas has anyone been on Visa run in past few days and what was the outcome.

Re: 90 Day Visa Rumours!!
Personally I can not see this happening there are so many foreigners with holiday properties in Turkiye now they would lose a lot of money by doing this, these rumours have been doing the rounds for a long time now and I think thats just what they are rumours.

Re: 90 Day Visa Rumours!!
30 Day Visa has already happened in Northern Cyprus. No more automatic 90 Days. However if you ask the immigration officer for 90 days before he stamps your Passport and explain that you have a holiday home there or something similar you will still get your 90 days. We were told by Antalya immigration that they knew of no plans to change the rules and this was about 4 months ago. Most of the Ex Pats that we know around here all have Residence Permits so even if it does change only the odd few are concerned.

Re: 90 Day Visa Rumours!!
There must be pressure to do this, although we would be against it. So many EU nationals abuse the 3 month visa's that it keeps being an "issue".
With it so easily available as an option, why would you pay residency charges when you can live for a year on £40 ?
It would be a sad day if a 30 day visa is imposed, but those who are resident and using it to avoid paying the appropriate fee would largely be responsible. For holiday makers or those who arent fortunate enough to be able to stay long term, would it really change anything?

Mr Turkey..when you take in the expense involved in going out and coming in it comes to a bit more than 40 pound..?

Also you will be very lucky to only do 4 trips in one year on a 90day visa so you need at least 5. I agree with shirley, unless you can just walk out on foot and come back in there is more than £10 to pay.

I concede the point Shirleyanntr, but compared to the cost of the permit, its peanuts ! If it wasnt, then people would be paying the "correct" fee .That's what I was really driving at.........

Re: 90 Day Visa Rumours!!
The cost of residency permits goes up each year and will continue to do so until Turkiye gets E.C. membership and for couple like us who visit UK approximately twice a year to visit relatives it is not economic. It is not just £10 for a visa but all the other add-ons also what other benefits having a visa do I get other than not having to go out out of Turkiye every three months?
This rumour started when they ran out of 90 day visa stamps at Bodrum Airport and put 30 day stamps in but overstamped with your arrival date.
Could this have been the beginning of another TLF urban myth.

Re: 90 Day Visa Rumours!!
If Turkey does change the rules in an attempt to close a loop hole it's down to them.
I think solution would be keep 90 day visa but impose a rule that if you have come in on one then when you go out you are blocked to return for 7 days. If however you need to go over the 90 day you can go to immigration police who will extend automatically for further 90 days if you pay the 6 month permit cost.
This would stop those who abuse the current system and possible get many to apply for permitsthe away day trips.
