Resident permits for our Family

Hello Everyone,

This is our first post on this forum. We have owned an apartment in Alanya for a couple of years now but this spring plan to move permanently this May. We are a married couple with 2 children under 5 years.

We need pesident permits for the family. Do we need separate permits for the children? Are these the same price as the adult permits (gasp!)??

We would also need someone to help us with the application. Does anyone know someone in Alanya who is reliable, speaks English and charges reasonable price?

We would really appreciate the advice and help of the experienced members here.

Best Regards,

Les & Tasha

You will need a permit for each member of your family, even if you had a 2 month baby you would still need one. Kids permits are half price though.

Thank you Pikey!

Am I right is presuming that the kids passports must have sufficient validity for the period of the residence permit? Our elder daughters passport only has 2 years left so would it be better to renew it before we leave?

Still getting our heads around £3,000 for residence permits!

why spend all that money for a 5 year permit when you really dont know how its going to turn out..get a years permit..or two years first....cheaper and just as valid..if things go well then you can take out a longer permit. Cheers.

Re: Resident permits for our Family

Hi & Les & Tasha, we moved to Alanya last year with our 4 children, we used the 3 month tourist visa and then applied for a 1 year residence. The costs were 530YTL for adults and 265YTL for the kids...you then have to buy the "blue book - permit book" an additional 65 YTL each if you have individual permits (however kids can be put onto parents book)...please be aware you will have to have the kids birth certificates translated and notarised into Turkish (approx 100 YTL each).

We can help you with the forms no problem & of course no charge!!!

If you need any more info & help with the move drop me a PM...

Cheers

Jez

Hi Everyone,

What a great friendly response ! Job done. Thank you all.

We don't need to work but I take the point about not going for a 5 year permit is taken. We love Alanya and have owned our apartment since 2005 but maybe a 2 year permit is the way to go.

The main thing with kids Visas

You will need full birth certificates that show mother and fathers names. This will need to be translated in to turkish and stamped by a noter translation needs to be by a certified turkish translater. Then the prices are 1/2 an adult price.
