Visa question
When we relocate we intend to get a residency permit for one year so we can import our goods and get a phone.
My question is, can we after the year then revert to a tourist visa and if we wanted, at a later date, go back to a residency permit.
Does anyone know the best place to go to renew a tourist visa from the Side area.

Re: Visa question
I hope you mean a residence permit, because a residence visa and residence permit are not the same thing. If you do get a residence visa for one year, you will have also to get a residence permit, so don't bother with the residence visa as it is a waste of time and money.

Re: Visa question
hi Paddington..
yes you can do that..you can also get a residency for 6 months..up to 5 years
whatever date your residency runs out you can get a 3 month visa by going over to Cypress from Alanya..in the season..ie April to October..
in the winter time you can fly over from Antalya..or go down to Taşacu..about 6 hours the ferries are year round.

Re: Visa question
if you only get your residence permit for one year does that not mean that customs will only allow temp import of your goods for one year??

Re: Visa question
Hi Catweazle..i think the years residents permit will be ok to bring your stuff in without any time restrictions..
there may a good reason for only taking a years permit..eg if you should need a new passport before the residents expires..and maybe you mightn't have the cash for a longer one at that time...and so on.
