Residency permit change of address
How would i change the address on my residency permit if i was to move house?.Me and my partner are looking for ways to save money and renting a cheaper property could be a way of helping. So i was wondering how i would go about changing my address on my residency and is there a charge.
Thanks

Re: Residency permit change of address
I can only answer bits of this because I got someone to do it for me. When done, if you have imported goods, remember to inform customs that you have moved. You also have to register with the local Muhtar and inform the old one you have departed.
In this area the paperwork started with the Passport Police and went from there. Keep photocopies of all documents they will take from you e.g. Res Permit.

Re: Residency permit change of address
Do you HAVE to change the adress? Do they use your adress at all?
I`m going to apply for a Residency Permit in Aydin soon, as that`s where I have my apartment. But I`m moving to Istanbul afterwards, will that be a problem?
(Sorry Julie )

Re: Residency permit change of address
When we moved we went to the Police headquarters where they made a note of our new address. We also registered with the new Muhtar and informed the old one that we were moving. My address on my residence permit was changed at the same time (or near enough) because I had to renew it about the same time. My husband's residence permit hasn't been amended yet, but will be when he renews it at the end of this year.

Re: Residency permit change of address
Does anyone know how you change the adress if you move to a different province? Who do you contact? Is it enough to get in touch with the local police where you move?
And is it a necessary procedure? Do they use the adress for something at all?

Re: Residency permit change of address
i believe since you already have your residency all you need is to go to the local police to change your address...the same goes for your partner..but as a Turk he must also go to the local Muhtar..as he will know.
Since you never know whats round the corner then its best to to it.

Re: Residency permit change of address
Can I go to the local police where I am moving? Or do I have to go to the old one?
And I guess they only change the adress, and you don`t have to fill in the forms, bring passport copies and photos?
Thanks Shirleyann
