Re: bf going in army, any chance he can come to england beforehand??
Hi Sophie,
I don't want to crash your dreams and hopes but i don't see the chance that he gets a visa to UK before he does his army duty. Especially when he has just a few months to go army, they (consulate, embassy) would refuse his apply with plesure and telling him: Oh sorry sir, you must go to army first! What if you don't come back? etc&blablabla
so please try but be prepared for bad news.
Good luck.

Baracuda is right!
Your boyfriend would have to apply for a visitor visa & they are very hard to obtain.
I know several people who have been refused this year due to not having served their Military duty & the government are afraid they will not return to Turkey to complete it, among other reasons.
If you did want to apply for a visa, your boyfriend will need to apply to the embassy.

Re: bf going in army, any chance he can come to england beforehand??
Hi sophie
I'm afraid I'm with Baracuda on this one. When my husband and I applied for his visa, one of the first things they asked for in almost every consulate/embassy/government office was Tayfun's army discharge papers, and without them I don't think we would have gotten anywhere. Also we were married when we applied - I wouldn't be too hopeful about getting a visa for your boyfriend. I would also be hesitant to try at this stage - the more refusals you get now, the less likely you are to get a visa in the future. If I were you I would jump on a plane, and spend the last bit of time you have with you fella before he has to sign up!!
Good luck and let us know what happens

I wish I could be more hopeful in my response to you but I am in agreement too as I have gone through this with my Turkish husband as well and of all the foreigners that I have meet and talked to that were in similar situations, not one of them was able to obtain visa for their husband or fiance and I know one couple who were rejected at the British Embassy and then after he completed his service they were rejected again. Good luck Azra
