visa or not!
could anyone shed light on this discussion recently had please. If a British person marries a Turkish person do they no longer need a residence visa to live here and can they work wothout a work permit?
A few efes might be hinging on this!!!(hope im right, needless to say!)

Brenda, even if you are married to a Turk, you still need to get a residence permit if your going to live here. As for working, its the same process then for any one else, you need to find an employer that will apply for the work permit and only in certain jobs. Once you have a work permit, you can only work for that employer and nobody else.

A Visa, is basically a tax that's paid to enter the country.
It's a Residence Permit that you need to live in Turkey. When you have one you can enter and leave the country without paying for a Visa

But if you apply for citizenship and after you get your nüfüs card you don't need a residence permit or work permit do you? |

yes but you cant get citizenship untill you have been married for 3 years along with being resident in Turkey for that time too.
The automatic citizenship for women married to Turks ended a few years ago.
Also there is such a thing as a residence visa, you can get them from the Turkish consulate in the country you apply from but they are a waste of time and money. You pay 80 pounds or so for the sticker which goes in your passport but you still have to go for the Blue permit within 30 days of arriving in Turkey hence it being a waste of time getting the thing in the first place.
