Turkish Tourist Visa question

hi can anyone help with my query, I am flying out to dalaman tomorrow, because I didn't have 6 months left on my old passport, I have now got a new one. I still have 2 months left on my Turkish entry visa, but it is on my old passport. would I be able to present both passports to avoid paying another 10 each for visa's, or would I have to pay again because the original 6 month visa is on my old passport which is now invalid, thanks.

Re: visa question

You should be able to show your valid visa from your old passport. I have done this for other countries not Turkey, but just keep 10 note with you just in case.

Re: visa question

Let us know how you get on.

I actually have the e-visa now for Turkey so this visa sticker in passport situation shouldn't arise as I carry a printout of my electronic visa separately.

Re: visa question

I will let you know, I didn't know you could get a Turkish e-visa, is that offered at their airports or do you have to apply on-line

Re: visa question

No, the e visa is bought electronically online.

Technically you could buy one now, that would cover you for your trip tomorrow, but you would lose 2 months on your current valid Visa, so best wait till your current one ends based on your next visit.

At time of writing it currently costs $20 so works out a little more than 10.

Here is the site to buy E Visa

https://www.evisa.gov.tr/en/

and this previous thread may help

E-visa

Re: visa question

I also presented my old passport and the new one. He stamped the old visa and then a blank page in my new one.

Re: Turkish Tourist Visa question

Sorry to tag on to your post, but it is a similar question.

Does anyone know if the rule about a passport being valid for at least 6 months after date of entry to Turkey is adhered to strictly? Has anyone been denied boarding in UK, or denied entry on arrival? We have a distraught teenager whose passport runs out 2 days short of the 6 months! I'm sure it will be fine but would appreciate any info. She can't get an electronic visa because the computer is obviously too accurate!!
thanks
