Residency Permit & Blue Book

Can any one clarify the difference in RP and Blue book ?.

Some say it's the same others say its not, so totally confused !

Please advise if you know the difference and the costs of these per month or per year.

Re: Residency Permit & Blue Book

They are the same . The book has a dark blue cover and says on the front in English and capitals "RESIDENCE PERMIT FOR FOREIGNERS" this is in addition to the same in Turkish. the inside pages are light blue.

Re: Residency Permit & Blue Book

The Residence Permit is a book with a blue cover, hence the nickname, so as Chinook says, "they are the same".

Re: Residency Permit & Blue Book

As all have said, the blue book holds your residence permit and you can have up to four permits in the book before having to get a new blue book. If this is your first residency, then you will have to pay in the region of 192 tl for the blue book to hold your permit - this figure is in addition to residency costs.

Re: Residency Permit & Blue Book

Residence permits may be issued for a two-year period, thereafter for a maximum of five years at any one time.

Residence permit fees:

British Nationals pay 60 Euros/$80/year: fees will be charged at $25 for one month and $5/month for each subsequent month

A residency permit book costs 198 Turkish lira (TL)

The fees will be converted to TL at the day of payment using the official exchange rate. Further information is available from the Alien’s Department in your local area.

Thanks all for your replies - a little clearer now.

I think will go with one year as it's my first one, then see how it goes.

They must make a bomb on selling these books, expensive or what? I wouldn't mind if it was a boxed set.
