Question Entering Turkey with a new passport and new surname?

Hei everybody.

I have a problem: I have changed my sirname and thus changed my passport, BUT I can not find my old passport anywhere.
How will this afflict to my still valid visa for Turkey? Will they be able to see that I am me??

By the way - thank you for a very nice site with good questions and wise answers

I would just go in on your new passport and pay the 10.

Buy a new visa, simple.

Re: Entering Turkey with a new passport and new sirname?

I think I didn't ask what I was actually thinking about:

I can by a new visa, no problem - but I wonder about the days allowed to stay. If their records of my travels starts from zero, then I can stay for 90 days, but if their records includes my old passport, then I have to count.

Anybody knows how their records are built up? I mean, they sure don't use our social security numbers. And my new passport has a brand new passport number.

Does anybody have any idea?

Looks like you've got two choices, #1 Get a new visa and count off the days from your old one #2 Grow a mustache and wear dark glasses in case they look through old wanted posters.

If you have a new passport with a new name and a new visa then how will they know who you were?
The 90 days will only be on your current visa.

It was the same for me after I married. They just look at the new passport as the counting starts again

Re: Entering Turkey with a new passport and new surname?

My wife currently has a non-GB passport and an RP both in her maiden name.

She now has a GB passport in her married name.
Can she still enter Turkey on her current RP?
Is her RP still valid or will she have to get it updated.

Re: Entering Turkey with a new passport and new surname?

She can't come in using her RP,it's not the same name as her passport. She will have to get an e-visa.
Then when in Turkey she will have to apply through the local foreigners dept., show her marriage certificate, possibly translated & notorized & get her name changed.
I'm generalizing on the procedure,as that is what the requirements are in Bodrum...but i'm sure you get my drift.
