Re: Resedency permit after the 14 th April

I am not sure anyone will be able to answer you at the moment as we are all reading the same articles relating to what will happen in April, and we are all waiting for it to happen.

At the moment, the way I personally understood it was that first year applications are made in London. However, if someone comes and stays 90 days on a visa, do they expect people to go back to get residency? I doubt it, so I would just keep watching and looking for more information as the date creeps closer. Maybe the first application can be done online if you are already in Turkey?

I am sure it has all been well thought out

Re: Resedency permit after the 14 th April

Personally I would not waste either your time or money going to the embassy in London for the supposed 1st years permit (we did, albeit a while ago now). WE got laughed at when we showed the Fethiye passport police the stamped card and the page in our passports. Needless to say we had to apply for the RV and pay all again.

I would do what countless others seem to do, with no problems and come, get your stamp at the airport or do it on-line first and then in time, when your 3 month visa is due to expire, start the ball rolling for a proper Residents visa.

Re: Resedency permit after the 14 th April

I think until the first of April the position is the same as before, in other words you go to the Police for your permits, after that the position changes and there are to be special offices open to deal with permits.

Re: Resedency permit after the 14 th April

According to all of the information after 1 April you will not be able to get a first Residency Permit in Turkey only renewals . You have to apply at the Consulate in London before you leave UK.You clearly fall between two stools as there is probably not enough time between 1 April and your leaving UK to make an application and get the RP . I would suggest that you put your question to the Turkish Consulate in London .

One of the points in the info is you must ensure that your passports do not run out until at least 60 days after the end of the visa period you are applying for which under the new system will be a maximum of 12 months.Another is that you will have to show sufficient funds in a Turkish bank account

Re: Resedency permit after the 14 th April

I had same reply D&d they have no systems in place, so doubt very much that they will be ready for any change in 8weeks time?!!!
Iv a feeling it will be the same, also re-looked at the new Law that has been stated in so many articles. It now only refers to the e-visa....maybe a U turn?? Hopefully

Re: Residency permit after the 14 th April

A couple of political parties have mentioned scrapping residency permits AKP & HDP and have mentioned involving people who live in Turkey whether they are Turkish or not in the areas in which they live. Hopefully this will happen.
