Turkish Tourist Visa price increase

tourist visa going up from 10 to 20 from the 11th April if you buy from the visa booth on arrival. might be cheaper to buy online for 13.

cut and pasted from voices paper.

The public meeting with the Ministry of Migration revealed new cost for visa stamps for travelers to Turkey.

While they are able to buy an evisa online before they come to Turkey for about 13, those do not obtain one will still be able to get a visa sticker in their passports.

However the visa sticker after April 11 will cost 20 double what British travelers have been paying for years on entry.

The e-visa management team revealed that 74,949 Brits have applied for evisas, but come second - to residents of Iraqi who have applied for in excess of 200,000 evisas.

The team added that kiosks will be available in airports in Turkey, and potentially in foreign airports, eo ensure people obtain an e-visa.

The visa stamp in the passport is expected to be dropped by the end of 2014 once the transition period comes to an end.

Foreign visitors coming to Turkey after April 11, can use this link to find out the cost of an evisa/visa on arrival for each nation: http://www.mfa.gov.tr/data/KONSOLOSL...tarlari-en.pdf

Re: tourist visa going up

You can apply sometime before you travel and choose to have the evisa start on the day of your arrival, I think I got mine about a month before I travelled. The official site says allow a week, or it did. I got mine emailed to me within minutes. Saved the pdf and printed it off.
Make sure you buy from the official site
https://www.evisa.gov.tr/en/
There are other sites that charge a fairly hefty administration fee and state they make it easy for you. Waste of time as the official site is very easy to use.

Spot on. That's how travellers should perceive it.

instead of queueing up for a guy to slap a stamp in your passport for a tenner, which would take all of 20-30 seconds each, those who need to use the "interactive kiosk" will be in a queue to use a machine which, by the ministry's own words, will take min 3 minutes each. And they will pay twice as much (when it's working).
