Residency permit when it comes to marriage?

Hi everyone,

I understand that for residency in Turkey you basically have to show an income of money for the year, then the same for the following. However, I also understand you have to live with your Turkish partner for 3 years in order to gain citizenship. How is it possible for me to get residence to live with my partner for 3 years if I can't show the income? Does the rules change for this situation?

Thank you!

I think you have to be married to a Turkish person in order to get citizenship that way.

As harem said, you have to be married in order to gain citizenship. Until you are married, you are regarded as single and supporting yourself so will need to show sufficient funds.

Re: Residency permit when it comes to marriage?

If you are married to a Turk you still have to have a Residents Visa but you don't have to give any financial information. After 3 years of marriage you can apply for Turkish citizenship - no visa required and you can work if you want to.

Re: Residency permit when it comes to marriage?

Only marriage is recognised in Turkey for citizenship and RP purposes and if Erdogan is returned he has stated he will make adultery, relationships between people who are married with others and also will apply to unmarried persons living together.
