alisons will become famous soon enough
residency renewal and health insurance

Residency renewal !

Today we went to Marmaris police for residency renewal we were told if we produced a marriage certificate we will be granted two years residency !! We were also told we can apply up to two months prior to its expiry ! Yes we do have to have in and out patient insurance and they were happy to accept our policy from Ankaar sigorta ,,they have english speaking staff in the insurance office in Marmaris Nazan Yilaz 05069752988 ..the policy is all in english and explained to you beofre you buy ..it also covers you in any other country for emergency medical treatment ..my husband paid 1152 and my self 1116 lira ..it can be paid in installments on a credit card Marmaris police were really helpful and spoke good english.
We have shopped around all the various companies over last two weeks and feel this is the best on offer for ex pats ,,..we are aged 52 and 56 ..
It covers you for two private hospitals and the devlet in Marmaris and also pays for yearly checks like psv and mammogrammes if you are over 40 ..

Re: residency renewal and health insurance

That sounds not too bad but the maximum residency period, as I understand it, is one year.

thought that was only if one was a Turkish citizen, or has there been a new interpretation of Article 34 of the Act

Gazzer is right , it was misinterpreted originally . It is now a maximum of 2 years for married couples , regardless of nationality

Re: residency renewal and health insurance

Seems the actual cost of residency has risen, rather than (as promised) been reduced, due to the added compulsory insurance policy.

Re: residency renewal and health insurance

Is that per month or per year?

What type of illness does it cover and will they actually pay out?
Let's face it, until someone has to use these cheap insurance deals we won't know if they're worth it.

Which clause was misinterpreted ? Clause 34 seems to be quite clear that it is the spouse of a Turkish citizen
