Problem with visa website

I applied last night, got right through to last stage after responding to the email, and the website hung....and hung....and finally said page not available. The phone no has been engaged ever since. Please can anyone tell me if this has happened to them? Do you think I should I respond to the email again? The payment hasn't come through the bank, but I'm afraid it will do, and if I respond again today will be debited again. Does anyone have any advice, from their experience please? Thank you

Re: Problem with visa website

If you did not get a e/mail saying payment has been taken and to print off your Visa ,then I don't think payment has been taken . Are you sure you used the official site ?

Yes definitely the official site. I haven't had the email to say payment has been taken. Has anyone ever actually got through using the phone no? Thanks

My daughter, has just done her e visa's and they sent her no email she was panicking but the problem was she has BT internet email address and it puts it straight into quarantine, after she was told this she tried with her husbands email and it worked straight away.

That is a problem I was expecting from the start. This system will send out millions of emails a year and sometimes thousands per hour. All those emails will be almost the same in content. When that happens automated spam filters on many servers will incorrectly label the mail as spam and the recipient may never receive the email. There is nothing the sending party can do about that, it is all down to the various receiving servers like Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, B.T. and the thousands of other servers.

Next year when Turkey withdraws all other options of getting the Visas the whole visa system will rely on emails getting through. To rely solely on an internet system for something this important seems madness to me, so many things can go wrong and from time to time they will.
