passport info:

I,m just sitting here getting excited about coming to turkey Wednesday and I,ve noticed that my daughters passport expires on the 15th September. we come back to England on the 16th august. I know some countries say you must have at least 3 months left on it on your return....will it be ok? if not could you recommend a babysitter for 3 weeks...

Passport Validity
Your passport should be valid for a minimum period of 6 months from the date of entry into Turkey and have at least 3 months validity from the date you are leaving Turkey.

The Turkish authorities have confirmed they will accept British passports extended by 12 months by British Embassies and Consulates under additional measures put in place in mid-2014.

Passport validity

"Your passport should be valid for a minimum period of 6 months from the date of entry into Turkey and have at least 3 months validity from the date you are leaving Turkey."

You probably already know this but you can make an appointment at the Passport for their premium service where you can get your passport the same day or within one week. Their phone number can be found on the UK Passport Office web site.

Edit - seems I was slow postıng! I just checked the site and the premium service ısn't available for children but the fast track one week service is

Re: passport info:

Gov website says you need 6 months on entry left on passport, and 3 months from the date you leave

Looks like an emergency extension to passport?

whoops pressed my submit and seen others had answered sorry for repeating what others have said

Re: passport info:

Dave,
I'm not having a go at you, so please don't take it that way and good luck with your next couple of hectic days, of which you will be needing that holiday on Wednesday.

But I wonder just how many of us know either our passport expiry date or are 100% confident that it's nowhere near the renewal time.

(And yes, I'm just off to treble check mine ready for my next visit)

Re: passport info:

Just on the off-chance, will you need to make a appointment, although you say it's only 25 minutes (each way) but better a 5 minute phone call than a long wait.

Good luck.

and yes I went and checked mine Oct 2016.

They won't see you without an appointment. My husband just made one to renew his passport while we are back in the UK for a week next month. You have to ring the passport advice line on the number given in an earlier post. The lines are open from 7 am.

Edit: sorry just remembered you won't be able to get the premium service for a child. Try ringing them anyway on the offchance they might rhave another solution. Fingers crossed for you.
