UK embassy visa single entry
Can anyone tell me..
A friend came to Turkey 7 weeks ago after applying and receiving a visa from the Embassy in London for £85, it states on the paperwork single entry.
They went to the local Gunlukbasi police station who just looked at the visa and said enjoy your stay. did not stamp or receipt it.
My friend is now intending to return to the UK for a week in September and a week at christmas, will she be able to exit and re-enter Turkey using this visa?
I was always under the impression that if you got the visa from UK embassy you had to go to the local police and still have to apply for a residency? have the rule changed on this peice of useless info from the Embassy?

Re: UK embassy visa single entry
if its a residence visa she has wasted 85 pounds on then it states on a bit of paper stapled to the passport that registration must be made with the local security department within 30 days of entering turkey.
If it says single entry then that is all what it is good for so she would need to get another one when she comes back which would cost ten pounds when she arrives at the airport.
getting visas from the consulate in London is a waste of time and money.

Re: UK embassy visa single entry
Hi Steve
Thanks for the reply re the entry visa, i was trying to explain this to my friend but thought I had better check to see if there were any changes to the law.
so, she has purchased this single entry, and can stay for a year as long as she dont leave Turkey, but as she is going to UK twice then she will invalidate the single entry visa and need to obtain the £10 multi entry at the arrival in Tutkey. would I be right in this assumption?

Re: UK embassy visa single entry
Jane this topic is different to the £10 tourist visa, the tourist visa is £10 multi entry, whereby you can enter and exit Turkey mulitiple times for the duration of the visa (3 months).

Re: UK embassy visa single entry
The Single Entry Visa purchased in London allows you to enter Turkey ONCE within a year of purchase of said visa.
That was how it was explained to me after I'd wasted my time and money!
