Is there an RP increase coming?

This was posted on the UKinTurkey website on the 13th August.

Has anyone else who are British, in the last couple of days, in other locations had this problem? I hope the GDMM reply quickly to resolve this new issue.

Hello, I just applied for a 6 month residency permit in Antalya. They charged me 108TL and 50TL which I expected. However, they also said I had to pay 320.70 TL. This website quite clearly states that you are required to pay this amount if your country is not on the above list, which England is (no. 61) We showed this page at the Police station and explained that according to this we should not be paying that 320.70 TL. They ignored us and said they have a 'new' list and England is not on it so we had to pay a total of 478 TL for a 6 month residency permit. No other English person I have spoken to has had to pay this amount. Is it correct that I should have paid that extra fee? And if so, why has no one else had to pay it? ?çi?leri Bakanl??? UKinTurkey We have contacted Foreigners Police Department in Antalya to check the legitimacy of their additional visa fee charges. Subsequently, we decided to raise this subject with GDMM as the reply we received from Antalya is unclear. We will let you know when we have further information. Re: Is there an RP increase coming?

It is on the list at number 61, İngiltere as you say, but getting money back here is not easy, they don't like refunds.

Re: Is there an RP increase coming?

Off topic it may be and with not knowing all the story, such as how long and how often the person actually wants to be in Turkey for or is a RP really necessary.

Surely with some careful planning with a tourist visa and overnight trip to Kos (or somewhere) at the end of a first visa then returning on a new visa for the rest of the 6 months.

As I say, with careful planning that can work on a back-to-back situation once each year and no need for a RP.

No it is not possible, I think you are forgetting the countback rule - 90 days in any 180 day period. Your scenario would result in being there for 180 days in 180 days attracting a large fine and a ban.

Re: Is there an RP increase coming?

The person concerned posted this on my Surgery site,& it was on my suggestion that they also made it public on the UKinTurkey page. It transpires that they have been 'treated' as refugees which is where the 320tl fee comes from.
Yet again today someone else is being forced to pay an extra 215tl over the agreed costs for their RP .
Here is the post from this second person,[names omitted]
''Im not sure if something similar has just happened to me. Im a first time applicant in Muğla and been asked to pay 50tl at vergi, 184tl also at vergi plus 215tl 'extra fee' at post office to the emniyet. Other first timers in my town did not get asked for this extra fee a couple of months ago.''

Yes you are correct, for some reason I was thinking of 180 day stay with a break in the middle, but obviously forgot about the count-back.

Redders.
Sorry for going OT and not wanting to digress any more, I'll leave it at that
