Residence Permit and e-visa

Hi, Sorry i have already asked this question but as of yet no answer. Can you enter Turkey on an e-visa whilst you have 3 weeks left on Residence Permit, reason i might still have a problem on obtaining a new Residence permit due to the over 66 rule about health Insurance, and i do not want to have to come back to UK, to obtain e-visa when Residence permit runs out.

Re: Residence Permit and e-visa

Yes you can enter Turkey on an e-visa instead of using your residence permit. You will of course have to leave the country and re-enter.

I don't know what you think the rules are about renewing your RP but 66 does not come into it.
It is not a requirement to have medical insurance to obtain a Residence Permit if you are over 65. (That is your choice).

Re: Residence Permit and e-visa

I would say don't take it for granted that you will be able to leave and return on your tourist visa, the reason i say this is because a friend of mine tried this only last week with 1 week to go on his RP and the customs guy threw his e-visa back at him and demanded his RP. the Turkish passport control was adamant and would not accept the e-visa, his is now off to Samos tomorrow

Re: Residence Permit and e-visa

Even if you came in on an E visa you still have to renew your RP before it runs out , there are no days of grace.

Re: Residence Permit and e-visa

Go along to your local polis and get the word direct as there are so many different rules and regulations and each area has some variation on the central theme it is so much better to get the word from the person who will be accepting your application.

That's an interesting point.

Whilst I am not disputing your comment, is it really necessary to leave and re-enter as the proposed entry date is specified on the visa. Will a day trip to Kos suffice?

I have been unable to get any info from GDMM.

Re: Residence Permit and e-visa

As Kos is in a different country, that would be leaving Turkey.
