The law is enacted but not actually being processed, it is apparently going to be next year before being implemented.

Re: Past my 8 years of residence....now what?

It's been mentioned several times on other threads before as to when it will come into effect, dates ranging from January to April 2015.

Not sure why you are calling it a permanent RP as I did read somewhere, but can't find the article now, that the length of what is refered to as the new "long term" RP will depend on how long your passport runs for and will have to be re-newed at some point.

My next RP is due March.....so January to April is significant!!..is the difference of months down to the different administration areas or a country wide thing?

Re: Past my 8 years of residence....now what?

January to April may be significant, but the truth is I don't think anyone knows 100% when it is going to happen. I understand whilst people have been appointed to fill the new posts in the various provinces, they will still need to be trained, so really all we can do is wait and see and hope for official news from the new department sometime soon.

Re: Past my 8 years of residence....now what?

There is an insurance guy next door but 1 to the notary in Didim that says he has successfully helped at least 4 people gain their long term RP already and insists it is up and running now, although i have yet to here from any holder of the RP to confirm this

Re: Past my 8 years of residence....now what?

Readers said on the link below that in his experience although people have applied for the new long term RP they never got it. I would wary of believing what that insurance guy says unless he can give you names of these people so you could confirm with them that it's true.

Perm residence permit

Do even the police get it right? i don't think so sometimes, that's why i would like to hear from someone that has one already.
