Re: Another visa question,sorry.

Do Turkish citizens have these travel restrictions placed upon them or are they free to come and go as they please

It may depend on which country they want to visit and what type of Turkish passport they hold. If a Turk wants to visit the UK it is expensive, plus they need to supply loads of paperwork, attend an interview and even after all of that the chances of getting a holiday visa are very slim and will lose the visa fee.

I did not mean what countries would accept Turkish nationals,I am more interested in whether the Turkish Government puts restrictions on free movement and travel on it's citizens because from my understanding any foreign national with a residency permit appears to have some restrictions on their ability to travel.

I don't think that many countries put restrictions on their citizens coming and going. It's more a question of the countries that they are visiting imposing restrictions.

With regards to the RP, there are no restrictions on coming and going, you just lose it if you "go" for too long. In other words, if you are not resident in Turkey you can't have a residence visa.

Re: Another visa question,sorry.

There would be no reason for the Turkish Government to put restrictions on a Turkish citizen leaving the country for however long. They would still be Turkish citizens, with a legal right of residence, when they returned. They cannot take away a persons' citizenship. Just like Brits who leave the UK for a few years and then go back.

They can take away a foreigners permission to reside in the country if they DON'T reside in the country for a period or more than 4 months during the 1 year permit.

Whether they will implemement the 120 day rule for the new residencies has yet to be tested , next April should be interesting.
