Time has come to apply for permanment RP

Just 58 days before my current RP comes to an end which means i have been here 8,5 years continous. İ live in İzmir which is believe is still taking applications for perm RP??

A few points about RP....i understand i need to letters, one from the police about not having a criminal letter and another from the DHSS. Do i obtain these or are they done by the processing officers?...are there any other requirements other than the usual papers for a normal RP?

Can i clarify two things which i understand comes with permanment RP- Military service....İ am 52 and i always understood i was too old to do it here..my Turkish wife just told me her father was called at about my age but it was a second call! ..i would hate to be called up!

There is something about exemption of taxes on imported cars...is this true?..is it tax or just the deposit scheme for holding a vehicle here?

İ thank you in anticipation!

Ah de1amo......delighted to see you have still not given up on a cunning scheme to save a few bob on a car.
I tip my hat to your perseverance.

Re: Time has come to apply for permanment RP

Re military service - you are confusing Permanent Residence Permit with Turkish Citizenship. PRP is just long term permission to remain, with no right to work.

Re: Time has come to apply for permanment RP

The letter from the court house about criminal record and the Turkish DHSS letter is something you have to do.

threat.

(2) Subject to subparagraph (d), the conditions stipulated
in the first paragraph shall not apply to foreigners
who are considered appropriate for a long-term residence
permit due to meeting the conditions determined
by the Migration Policies Board.

Rights conferred by a long-term residence permit

ARTICLE 44 –

(1) Without prejudice to acquired rights with respect to
social security, and subject to conditions stipulated

You must have missed the first line of my post where I said you had to go to the court house and also the social security office.
