Re: Residency

You will need 4 x passport sized photos - 2 x copies of your Tapu - or if your name is not on the Tapu then a rental agreement from your landlord - a copy of your earthquake insurance - a copy of your Turkish health insurance - a form to fill in that you get from the police station - a copy of your bank balance as of that day or the day before to prove you have enough funds to keep you going. They are only issuing the Residency Permits for one year now - unless you are married to a Turk - then for 2 years - or if you have had a continuous RP for 8 years or more - you could get a lifetime RP now.

Re: Residency

This has come as a shock to me this sudden scrutiny of the residency process. İ have been here nearly 9 years and originally intended to go for permanment residency but the police refute the fact i have lived here 9 continuous years despite all their stamps and processing in my little blue books!!...also suddenly they are asking about income levels which has never been requested before...they require copies of my wife's business accounts here which isnt easy or income into a bank here from abroad....my uk income rarely comes here so that is no help!! İ asked the polis officer if being the father of a Turkish daughter gave me any rights and he said NO.....so if i dont jump through the hoops it is off we go!!...i hate to think of all the illicite youngsters who are 'jobbing' in language schools ..bleak days!..İ don't become a citizen because i dont want to be under the spell of the leader here!!
