Best out of 90/180 day Visa

I must admit I've sighed a great relief on the news of being able to come and go as you please on a Blue Book RP until it expires...but it did get me wondering as to what would be the best way to get 180 days out of 360 i.e. two back to back visas in any year...any offers? Dates etc would be useful...just wondering if it's going to be worth considering for the future when my Blue Book runs out...

Re: Best out of 90/180 day Visa

You cant do back to back 90s as it is a maximum of 90 days in any rolling 180 day period

Re: Best out of 90/180 day Visa

This is an interesting dilemma and one that is increasingly dear to my heart as retirement approaches.

I don't want to live in turkey but would like to spend as much time as I wish, probably more than 90 days in 180 at times.

My thoughts at present, especially with the 120 day rule, is annual RP applications. It will be interesting to hear of the experience of others who will be in the same situation as me and will go through it all before I do.

I really can't work out a way to use the 90/180 in a way to make me happy.

Ted, why a six month RP? Why not just get a 12 month one, fall foul of the 120 day rule and just apply for a new RP when appropriate?

Hunt,

I believe with a 6 month visa you don't need the full health insurance coverage.

That's why many people are choosing STRP instead.

Hunt 23
The OP asked about getting 180 days back to back , that's why I suggested the 6 month reidency also as Charlottehas said, It'd work out cheaper on the insurance side

ted j I agree with you but as far I can make out it is still a requirement even with say a 3-6 month RP (after your 90 day evisa expires) you would still need a 12 month Insurance 'approved' policy which you would then just cancel after your 6 months (probably admin charges etc to pay)...have just read that on Doc Redmans' informative fb site

Re: Best out of 90/180 day Visa

I have decided after 9 years with a Residency Permit that it is just too much hassle and have decided to spend my time like this instead =

December January February - UK
March April May - Turkey
June July August - UK
September October November - Turkey

It is also because my mother is 86 this year and I have 9 x nephews and nieces and wish to spend more time with them now.
