3 month residency permit

I need to apply for a 3 month residence permit, my 90 days in 180 runs out on 5th August.
Has anyone applied for a short term residency and been accepted using UK bought travel insurance?

Re: 3 month residency permit

Short answer - UK insurance no longer accepted. I suggest you look at Doc Martins Surgery on Facebook for all the info you need on Residence Permits.

Isn't that the same as a extended stay permit which is issued by the tourist police!

We were given options of 2,3 and 6 month RP last October at Didim police station.

Yes- last October though. According to Yildiz's post below things may have changed since the new rules came in earlier this year.

Re: 3 month residency permit

Am I missing something? I just do not understand why anybody would want a 3 month residency permit when you get the 90 days on an E-Visa in any case - which is essentially 3 months isn't it?

90 days in 180 as I understood it. We had been there for 80days in the one visit and needed to get an extended stay- it would not have been possible to get entry on another 90day visa

Re: 3 month residency permit

Not sure but I think the problem/confusion is calling it a ''residency permit'' when in fact what is being asked for is a 'Extended Stay Visa'

Which is what would be required after the 90 day allocation has been used and a further stay within the 180 day period is wanted.
