Resident Permits

Foreign Citizens Advice Centre

13 August at 17:13 Edited .

Residence Permits Change of Circumstances please read

It is imperative to inform the Directorate General Migration Management office to which you have sent your application, of any change in circumstance that occur whilst you are waiting on your new Short Term Resident Permit. i.e. Change of address, marriage, telephone numbers etc.

Failure to report changes have resulted in heavy fines and a ban from Turkey for a period of time.

Note: It has been brought to our attention during this week that failure to do so can cause you significant delays and problems.

The addresses given on your application form are being checked by the authorities.

Re: Resident Permits

Can you give an example of even one single person being fined and banned for moving, changing their telephone number, or getting married after their application? This sounds rather incredible to me. Who brought this to your attention?

Re: Resident Permits

What is the role of The Advice Centre?

Established in 2005 and the only one of its kind in the country, The Foreign Citizens Advice Centre has been set up to assist qualifying foreign nationals with a comprehensive range of free advice and support. We can simply point you in the right direction or, if you prefer, guide you every step of the way.
Free advice
Do I qualify for free advice and support?

In general terms, if you hold a valid passport from any country other than Turkey then you are considered to be a foreign citizen for the purposes of obtaining the full range of services of The Citizens Advice Centre free of charge. Check with one of our advisers for our up to date terms and conditions.
Paying for the service
How is The Advice Centre funded?

Similar to Citizens Advice Centres in Western Europe, we receive support from the government in the form of tax relief. Our day-to-day running costs are met by charitable donations from local businesses and residents. To keep personnel costs down, our dedicated staff give some of their time as volunteers.

Like all information you can choose to ignore it, however the minefield that is Turkish officialdom is such a problem İ feel we need as much help and advice as we can get. Yes people have been fined in Alanya for not amending their records and have had their RP application rejected and had to start them again because of such problems.
