Question Help! Residency- applications form mistakes!

Hoping someone out there might be able to offer some sagely words of advice....

We (my wife and I) have filled in our online applications and have appointments set for next Weds (31st) in Kas.

It was important to get our dates right as we have to leave for a week at start of Sept and understand that you only have two weeks from appointment date to leave and re-enter Turkey ( presumably that is the minimum tern around time for card being processed and sent out?? So you must be back for it?)

Anyways....because of wanting to secure our appointment date, we left our mobile telephone incorrect on the form and also our just now completed health insurance details were also I correct

So...wanting to update the form today, as we now have that correct info, BUT BECAUSE WE HAVE ALREADY SELECTED/BOOKED OUR APPOINTMENT DATE/TIME WE CAN NO LONGER MAKE CHAGES TO OUR APPLICATION.

I called the 157 foreigners helpline this morning who explained the above and said we could start a new application if we still had a current visa. I told them our 90 days ended a few days ago - our unsterstanding being that as long as we had a current application and appointment we were here legally.

He confirmed that we were indeed here legally, but could NOT now start a new application as we did not have a current visa (as we have used up all Of the ninety days of our visa)

..... rock and Hard place stuff......

He said we should simply go to appointment with all paperwork next week (including our printed erroneous application form!) but what will happen he could not say (!!!!!!)

So we will have the correct mobile number and our correct Heath ins details with us then...and go. But fearful we might simply be turn away?

Any help/words of advice/warnings would be most welcome and appreciated

Best wishes

Stephen

ı had an appoıntment at aydın offıce a couple of years ago and ı,d made a couple of mıstakes on the onlıne form DONT WORRY--they are very nıce people and wıll correct any mıstake you tell them about ıts not an ınterrogatıon.Your telephone number ıs ımportant as they wıll call and leave you a message on your phone ıncludıng the onlıne trackıng number when your new res permıt ıs posted out but ıf your out when the post comes they wıll leave a stıcker on your door to go and pıck your new res permıt from the post offıce.When you go for your appoıntment take them a packet of bıscuıts to have wıth theır tea and thank them for theır help---the young lady ı got spoke very good englısh and was so frıendly and helpfull.

If you are a Facebook member, log on and join Doc Martins Surgery for expats group. There you will find all the info you require and also you may ask questions from people who have been to the Kas Office.

Re: Help! Residency- applications form mistakes!

Many thanks. So it suggests that online forms can be changed once at the appointment which sounds hopeful.

I wish there was a line on the site that said "once you select an appointment date, you will NO LONGER be able to make any changes to your application form. That would be good.

Many thanks for replies. Much appreciated - heart beat has slowed down quite. Lot.

Any experiences out there of the new Kas office?

Hope they are as obliging as the Mugla folk re changing a couple of answer in the e-application.

Re: Help! Residency- applications form mistakes!

Ks6bass,you will be able to explain to the officer your mistake with your phone number and have it rectified before your application is sent to Ankara.
They realise the importance of the mobile no. being correct as you should get a text from the PTT with a tracking barcode when your new card leaves Ankara & starts making its way down to your home.
