Blue book for residency

I took out a 1 year residency a few years ago and then the dreaded 120 days out of the country was introduced so I assumed my residency was cancelled and didn't renew it.The question is will I have to start the process from the beginning again or does the fact I have the blue book mean I can have a renewal on it.
All learned words of wisdom would be appreciated.

Re: Blue book for residency

I think you will find that new applications whilst available to complete online still require an appointment/interview at the local GOC office. Although some renewals are being accepted by posting the printed online documents, others are requiring appointments to be made. That decision is only given at the end of the online application.
Although the Blue Book is coming to the end of its life (even though some are valid until 2018), provided they are still valid the application for a new style RP is still classed as a renewal provided it is made up to 60 days before expiry of the old RP.

Re: Blue book for residency

If you read through bickerns link you will see that you can apply on line or in person. However the online route is followed by sending all required documents by kargo but not through the regular mail service.

Re: Blue book for residency

Everybody has to complete the application online. The process then tells them if their application is accepted and they then choose an interview day and time (unless it is in Istanbul and the system gives them a fixed appointment).
If it is a first time application an interview at the GOC office is mandatory. If it is a renewal, some are going through with a kargo/PTT option, others are insisting on an interview.
The GOC offices are not simply accepting someone turning up at the door and asking for a RP.

Re: Blue book for residency

Post 5 and 7 say the same thing KK....you have got to have an interview if its a first time application even though you "apply" online.
