Is Visa required for day visit from Kos to Turkey?

I hope Kos isn't a banned word on here, but we're holidaying there in September (after years and years of Turkey, then a few years off, plus Crete in between).

Anyway, to get my 'fix' while we're in Kos I hope to come across to Bodrum, scoot over to Turgutries for an hour or so, and back for a mooch round Bodrum before heading back to Kos again.

I've read mixed reports on if I need to buy an E-Visa for just a day visit?

Can the learned on here advise please?

Thanks

David

Re: Is Visa required for day visit from Kos?

I had assumed that anyone visiting Turkey would need a visa even if only for half an hour so I shall be interested to hear the response to your question.

After now reading the Gov.uk site it would appear the only people who do not need a visa are those on cruise ships if staying less than 72 hours but I guess they can only then do tours organised from the ship.

Just meant plenty of people who have just passed through Turkish airports in transit and they all had to buy a visa at the airport before being allowed through immigration. They were told beforehand that they wouldn't need one.

Re: Is Visa required for day visit from Kos to Turkey?

We holidayed in Kos a while back and did the ferry to Bodrum
We paid the trip organisers and included in their price was a 10 fee to enter Turkey (that is what the old visa used to cost)

Re: Is Visa required for day visit from Kos to Turkey?

As Ted correctly stated a visa is required to enter Turkey, even for a day & Laura is right, only cruise ship passengers here for less than 72 hours are exempt.
