Turkish E Visa help.

Greetings everyone,

I am currently not in Turkey.

I have a valid E Visa than runs out on the 27th Feb 2019.I was only in Turkey for 6 weeks on this visa.

I am planning to return to Turkey on the 17th Feb 2019 and stay for 7 weeks. Will it be OK to apply for another E Visa for this visit.

Jason

Re: E Visa help.

First you just need to check that you will not overstay the 90/180 day rule.

Just count back 180 days from date you will be leaving Turkey to ensure that you have not exceeded 90 days stay.

If you have not, you can apply for new visa to start from new date of entry. If you have just reduce the stay or as some do...pay a fine on exit.

There are various calculators ion the internet that can help.

Re: E Visa help.

My understanding is yes you will be ok as you will be within the 180/90 day rule but take both copies of visa with you just in case.

Re: E Visa help.

Jay Jay,it is legal to have overlapping evisas, but you must enter showing the visa that you'll be leaving with. So upon entering in Feb,you just need to show your new evisa & naturally leave showing the same in March.

Could you clarify this Redders please?
With an evisa you don't show printed paper visas at passport control - hence the reason they scan your passport. Presumably the passport scan shows whether you a)have an active visa and b) if you are overstaying. Otherwise you could leave Turkey every 90 days, get a new visa and re-enter showing your new paper visa.

Re: Turkish E Visa help.

The 180-day validity period is completely different from the 90-in-180 days rule. These two time periods are often confused because they happen to be the same number of days.

Regardless of how many visas you have going at any time, or if you get a new one, you can't enter or be in Turkey if you have been in Turkey more than 90 days in the previous 180 days.

The 90 days does not "re-set" to zero if you get a new e-visa.

The 180-day visa validity period starts and ends on specific dates.

The 180 days in the 90-days-in-180-days rule is a rolling time period counting back from whatever day today is or whatever day you plan to visit Turkey. So that time period starts 180 days before whatever date you are calculating from, whatever date that happens to be.

I would recommend using a Schengen visa calculator. The Turkish e-visa follows the Schengen rules as do European Union countries. You can search for one online. There are also Schengen visa calculators you can download from the web store for whatever smart phone you have. Just enter your visa validity dates and the dates of entry and exit from Turkey. The calculator will then tell you how many days you have left to visit or remain in Turkey.
