Its defo 5years now i have checked myself or if you have had a residency permit for 5years then you can apply for it but if you havent and you are married then its defo 5years thats what the nufus office advised me 2weeks ago.

A Kimlik is your "proof" that you have turkish citizenship; at road checks, banks, asked for ID..it's your kimlik that they ask for. Turkish passports aren't worth the money when you have dual-citizenship.

Turtle you are right. I received my kimlik last year. As long as you have been married for 3 years and have kept your residency up to date in that time you can apply. Go to nufus manager in your town with hubby and they will direct through it all. Long winded process, and lots of paper work but worth it. Don't worry about the interview I heard all sorts of stories which were rubbish. they only ask how you are really and what your name is . All basic stuff. good Luck.
