Smile Wall Art/Pictures

We have purchased an apartment in Tuzla and have now nearly fully furnished it.
The only problem we are having is finding wall art/pictures/paintings??
Does any one have any suggestions as to where we can buy some we dont mind travelling to a shop any where Bodrum/Milas/Didum or further a field for a decent selection.
I know we could bring canvas/art work from UK but would rather buy something local.
Thanks

Nina

Re: Wall Art/Pictures

I had the same problem in a different area. My taste is not the same as Turks it seems and I found most stuff to be quite garish. In the end I bought antique silk panels to hang from poles, ceramic plates and then had some favourite photos enlarged and framed over there.

I know that Koctas and Onderler in Bodrum have a selection of prints and a framing service.
There is also "ART STREET" in Yalikavak where local artists sell there work.

Re: Wall Art/Pictures

I havent been able to find anything either, not off season anyway.
I ordered some nice turkish related framed prints from here (allposters.co.uk) to bring over. Ones a bit bigger than I thought though so it may be staying in the UK lol!

Id like to find some wall hangings or other things hopefully I will get more of a chance for shopping on my further visits.

DGNTR will become famous soon enough
Re: Wall Art/Pictures

We had the same problem last year.

The best place we found for half decent pictures at reasonable prices was the little shop to the left of the main entrance of Kipa. We managed to get a few in there and you can barter with them too.

Re: Wall Art/Pictures

We had the same problem and did the same as edeller by taking prints out from Allposters and having them framed in Turkey.

Re: Wall Art/Pictures

Thought I might have got a mention there Ian

Why not choose photos or illustrations from Stock Photography: Search Royalty Free Images & Photos
buy a high resolution image for a few dollars, download, checkout if your
local signmaker has a digital print machine and get them to print it for
you. Either onto canavas or photo paper, alternatively give them your
digital images. The cost should not be more than £40-00 for an area of
print 1mtr x 1.3 mtrs, then take out to Turkey and have them framed
simples

Re: Wall Art/Pictures

Sorry about that Carol.

Yes Carol did us some fantastic pictures onto canvas from photos for us.(She has a sign and print business)

Took the rolled up canvas and mounted it on frames in Turkey.
