Eating out Info

Hi,
I am staying at lakeside at the end of July. Just was wondering what it's like to eat out both there and at other complexes nearby.
What sort of prices of meals at these places?
How easy is to walk between them?

Thanks for any info

Martin

Re: Eating out Info

I guess you don't know the area.
It's probably 20 minutes walk from your place, more if you're on an apartment down the site, to the Sunset cafe, where they serve the usual Turkish fare. Just heard today that prices have gone up again which in my mind makes it pretty poor value.
Beer was put up to 5tl but apparently is now back down at 4tl.

There are resaurants on Flamingo and Turquoise also. Flamingo wasn't bad in March about 50tl for 2 with just 1 beer each. Never been to Turquoise.

There is a restaurant opening in one of the Turkish sites about a mile away from the Sunset.

I'm sure others will be along to give more info.

I started a thread about a month ago on places to eat but didn't get many contributors.

You can also use the restaurants in Turqouise and Flamingo Complexes.

Re: Eating out Info

I believe the restaurant at Lakeside can be very quiet. Sunset cafe is ok but the prices have gone up slightly after the alterations that have been carried out there. If you want a fantastic view of the sunset in top class surroundings, overlooking Artev's private beach, then try the new complex at Royal Heights. The restaurant is near the bottom of a steep complex but a free shuttle bus runs up and down the hill. The food is definately not cheap but you do get what you pay for.

I can recommend the roof top restaurant at Royal Heights...may not be the cheapest but there is a good choice and the food is superb.....and what a view while you're eating! (also has bar & two pool tables)

Re: Eating out Info

We went to the Sunset last night for the Turkish buffet night. Very good selection of starters, mains were limited to be honest. Very good if you want to taste the different mezes available.

Re: Eating out Info

We ate at Royal Heights last night and were very disappointed. Everything comes served with 1 frozen cauliflower floret, 1 sprig of frozen broccolli, 2 frozen brussel sprouts and 2 spoons of frozen mixed veg. We were also given a small portion of tepid frozen french fries. Shame as the steak and goulash were very good, just didn't expect them to be accompanied by the above.

Re: Eating out Info

That's too bad. I have had loads of conversations over the years with Turkish chefs as to why they think we like frozen or bottled veg with our dinners. At the moment the green beans here are marvellous but they dont serve them as a side dish.
